Finance & Accounting Columbia Sportswear Finance & Accounting teams oversee the financial health and forward strategy for a portfolio of four global brands. These teams exercise expertise across Compliance, Credit, Financial Planning and Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement and Strategy. Advancing traditional Finance & Accounting functions, the organization is also driving exciting innovation in the application of advanced analytics and automated intelligence. The Senior Accountant is part of the North America accounting team, responsible for supporting various North America accounting tasks associated with our prAna subsidiary. Tasks include month-end close duties, reconciliations, journal entries, maintaining strong internal controls, delivering timely, accurate, & relevant financial information to internal customers and being an active, collaborative business partner. These areas are primarily focused on inventory and associated sales/margin with coverage of other miscellaneous topics as needed.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE
You will perform analysis of accounting records to explain variances resulting from financial statement review and inquiries from management
You will perform monthly account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
You will engage with various accounting teams on GAAP accounting issues as needed, discuss with Accounting leadership as needed.
You will prepare quarter-end and year-end schedules for management review and for preparation of year-end SEC financial statements.
You will maintain SOX compliance activity and documentation. Understand and maintain internal control procedures. Support internal and external audit procedures, including communicating or engaging with the auditors directly on your topics
You will maintain high level of productivity, working to drive continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures. Additional Job Description
You will coordinate as needed with the Direct AP team regarding the impact of payments to vendors (product, freight, and duty) on the recognition/recording of intransit inventory, finished goods inventory, and the income statement.

YOU ARE
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing sales and returns for proper recording in the general ledger to support external reporting and internal reporting on channel performance.

Capable of preparation, review and analysis of obsolescence reserve balance. Monthly and quarterly analysis to update and record reserve balances. Review reserve calculation assumptions to update as the business environment changes. Partner with FP&A to ensure budgets and forecasts reflect updated guidance.
YOUHAVE
Experience with General ledger accounts including intransit inventory, finished goods inventory, and COGS with other associated or ancillary accounts. Interaction with Distribution center personnel on finished goods reconciliation of the warehouse management system to the ERP will occur.
