The Retail Inventory Analyst is part of the Global In house Center team in India, responsible for supporting various cross-functional tasks for our North America DTC operations. Tasks include maintaining strong internal controls, delivering timely, accurate, & relevant financial information and for being an active, collaborative business partner

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Monitor 3 way match activities between goods receipts, vendor invoices, and purchase orders in the Dynamics 365 retail ERP. Activities also include working in the corporate SAP ERP system. Significant transaction volumes exist related to inventory and invoice transactions based on individual carton shipments from our wholesale supply chain to B&M store fleet (currently 140 stores).
Identify and communicate exceptions, variances, and aged unreconciled invoice documents to cross-functional partners in DTC supply chain and store operations. Exceptions related to RTV and store-to-store inventory movements is also performed. Work collaboratively to resolve unusual issues.
Monitor and analyze retail inventory transaction activity associated with store-to-store transfer process.
This role is a primary liaison with 3rd party licensee vendors to ensure invoices are processed, reconciled and paid in a timely manner. Related to this activity, you will engage with vendor representatives and Columbia team members in accounts payable and DTC Merch Planning & Allocation. Licensee business volume represents ~10-15% of inventory transactions, but requires additional diligence and effort to ensure complete, accurate and timely payment.
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
Comply with internal controls to protect the assets of the company in accordance with internal and external financial reporting requirements, including SOX. As needed, support and engage with internal and external auditors.
Maintain high level of productivity. Deliver continuous improvement in the efficiency and effectiveness of transactional and accounting processes. Where possible, recommend streamlining and efficiency improvement opportunities, whether at the desk level or as part of the end-to-end processes with cross-functional partners.
Perform ad-hoc analysis as needed
Work independently with limited oversight from Accounting Manager and exercise sound judgment.
Cross-functional partnership requires excellent communication with various teams including business partners, accounting teammates (including Accounts Payable), and various corporate teams such as Store Operations and Supply Chain.


Secondary Functions:
Maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and efficient operation of the organization.
Perform special projects as directed by the Shared Service Accounting leadership.
Ability to document and maintain processes and procedures (SOPs), and detailed work instructions.
Perform other related duties as needed.

Job Scope:
Job consists of recurring work situations with occasional variations from the norm. Incumbent completes tasks and functions of a moderately complex nature. The incumbent operates from some established policies and procedures, occasionally creating new ones with the supervisors review and approval. Duties are performed with minimal supervision and direction. Because of the exactness required in an accounting function, work is checked by supervisors. Decisions are made within general department guidelines. Errors in judgment can adversely affect financial statements resulting in the dissemination of incorrect information used to make strategic/planning decisions.

Interpersonal Contacts:
Contacts are normally made with others inside the organization. Interactions tend to focus on information exchange and problem solving. Contacts frequently contain confidential/sensitive information. Incumbent frequently initiates contacts on their own most of the time being using Microsoft Teams, phone and when back to the office via face-to-face interaction.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Position is not supervisory in nature.

Specific Job Skills:
Possess strong knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. Ability to review and analyze financial statements and accounts. Ability to research and analyze large amounts of data are required. Strong organizational, time-management and project management skills are also required. Computer skills should include an intermediate aptitude in Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Excel. Ability to navigate in a Windows based network environment and proficiency in online and e-mail applications is expected. Ability to apply fundamental accounting knowledge to daily activities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Well-developed ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to solve problems and work effectively under pressure. Ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere. Strong attention to detail is needed while still being able to demonstrate the ability to comprehend the bigger picture.

Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent specializing in accounting is preferred.

Experience:
2-4 years general accounting experience required. Experience in journal entry preparation, auditing and balance sheet reconciliation preferred. Experience in apparel industry preferred. Systems experience with Dynamics 365, SAP, and associated reporting tools (PowerBI, SAP BW) is preferred.


Job Conditions:
Ability to follow through, analyze problems, make informed decisions, and complete tasks accurately in an atmosphere that necessitates multi-tasking is required. Job requires flexibility during peak seasonal times when hours often exceed 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week to complete priority projects and meet deadlines. Exposure to a computer screen and sitting for extended periods of time.
