The Accounting Manager for DTC operations is a key member of the North America Accounting Team overseeing retail accounting matters with sales audit and inventory control and accounting. This manager is the primary representative of the Accounting department to cross-functional DTC and Corporate teams regarding North America Brick and Mortar order-to-cash, direct procure-to-pay, and inventory accounting processes. This role manages 1 inventory accountant and also engages extensively with our Accounting Shared Services team. As the process and accounting expert, additional activities include active identification and resolution of issues, improvement of cross-functional business processes, and ad-hoc financial analytics.

HOWYOULLMAKE A DIFFERENCE
You will ensure the overall financial statement accuracy of North America DTC inventory, including planning and analysis of key inventory reserves. Key individual responsible and accountable for the financial statement accuracy of units and costs of in-transit and on-hand inventory in the DTC and corporate ERP systems.
You will maintain oversight of the physical inventory count procedures working with B&M store leadership to properly count on-hand units and reconcile, investigate, and report shrink results. Analyze shrink results for root cause and remediation planning as well as for financial management (prepare annual budget and monitor actual vs. plan during the year).
You will represent the Finance & Accounting function as the subject matter expert for the DTC direct procure to pay cycle. Partner with Store Operations, Supply Chain, and DTC Merchandising teams to ensure inventory transactional activity is properly recorded in CSCs DTC and corporate systems. Ensure timely resolution of 3-way match exceptions (purchase order goods receipt invoice) for reconciliation and timely vendor payments. As necessary, support DTC business partners in managing vendor performance.
You will engage with the order-to-cash accountant on the Shared Services team regarding the daily sales audit process and the daily validation and reconciliation of credit card receivables and cash. Based on process and financial activities, influence and coordinate to mitigate risks and deliver process improvements with key stakeholders in Store Operations, Loss Prevention, and Treasury.
You will provide subject-matter expertise on key strategic initiatives including system implementations and enhancements within North America and to other geographies as necessary.
You will assist cross-functional partners in Merchandising, Store Operations, Loss Prevention, Financial Planning & Analysis functions for implementation of new processes, tools, and capabilities to improve operational and financial performance. Examples include freight management analytics, merchandise vendor management, inventory cost update impacts, resolution of supply chain challenges in vendor performance, managing armored car service, and consumer payment analytics.
You will represent Finance & Accounting in the cross-functional process of systems enhancements with DTC Tech partners. Support major and minor releases of system functionality through development of business requirements, testing, training and stabilization.
You will develop, implement and manage accounting processes, controls and systems to ensure appropriate level of internal control. Interface with internal and external auditors for Sarbanes-Oxley and audit related matters. Provide necessary supporting documentation for internal and external audits.

YOUHAVE
Bachelors degree in Accounting. CPA is a strong plus
Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting/accounting process experience, with a minimum of 3 years experience in managing senior and staff accountants
Strong business acumen, with proven accounting management skills in terms of GAAP and best practice financial controls and reporting
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel required, including the ability to perform financial analysis
Intermediate to advanced data analytics is a plus, including the use of reporting tools such as SAP BW, Cognos TM1, and Microsoft PowerBI. Experience with SAP and Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
Retail accounting experience preferred
