About the job
Modern Skate & Surf is Michigan's original Skate Shop (since 1979). We operate the third largest indoor skatepark in North America, as well as a retail store and a small events center just north of Detroit, Michigan. We are looking for someone to join our team as an Assistant Manager with opportunity to reach Manager level. This is a key leadership role for both the shop and park. www.modernskate.com
Responsibilities include:
• Setting and achieving sales goals
• Leadership of employees
• Training/Development of employees
• Day to Day operations in both the shop and skate park
• Visual Merchandising
• Inventory/Loss Prevention
• Customer Service
• Communication with the leadership team and employees
• More responsibilities will be discussed during the interview process
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Retail Leadership experience is required (action sports/skate preferred)
• Strong sales skills
• Ability to coach and put employees in positions to thrive.
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to model ultimate customer service for the employees.
• Flexible and adaptable schedule - must be able to work weekends and nights.
• Coachable
