The Design and Application Services Developer creates market relevant design concepts and builds protype samples that showcase Bemis SewFree products and bonding construction techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Brand Sales Director and Brand Team to organize the Seasonal Product Sales and Design Brief for the Bemis Roadshows, 2x yearly.
• Research seasonal fashion color and trend forecasting in unison with customers seasonal launch calendar (2-3 years ahead), while using the seasonal design brief as the guide.
• Create concept sketches of mock-ups for preliminary presentation to Brand Sales Director and Brand Team. Bring the concepts to life using Bemis product lines to show possibilities of replacing sewing with bonding.
• Identify the suitable fabrications, colors, trims, graphics, etc. of the intended design concept. Collaborate with Application Services Lead to confirm bonding compatibilities of all materials.
• Create technical detail sketches of mock-ups for final approval presentation and to drive physical prototypes. Collaborate with Application Services Lead for prototype creation.
• Prepare final design Tec Pacs including sketches, artworks, product/materials information to send to apparel factory partner and Bemis Asia team.
• Support the Applications Services Lead with providing comments and details to the apparel factory during the factory prototype and production stages, and SOP creation.
• Contribute in preparing all materials for external and internal customer meetings, as well as attending the meetings and participating as assigned; including but not limited to Bemis seasonal Roadshows, customer product and lab presentations, customer product & bonding trainings, factory & vendor visits, and internal corporate engagements.
• Prepare visual presentation materials that creatively display the Bemis products portfolio and the concepts behind the Seasonal Product Sales and Design Brief. Contribute in presenting to the brand customer at seasonal Roadshows and individual meetings.
• As needed, provide design skills to ideate customer and corporate initiatives.
• Provide backup hands-on Applications support to the Applications Services Lead as the workload demands. Divide bonding applications workload accordingly when needed.
• Become proficient with the Bemis products portfolio and apparel bonding techniques and serve as an expert to brand customer.
• Proactively collaborate with U.S. and Global Design and Applications teams, Technical Teams, Product Development, and Marketing on internal projects and strategic corporate initiatives.
• Build partnerships with the customer base.
• Ability to travel up to 10% Domestic and/or International.


Requirements (minimum acceptable and/or preferred):
Education:
• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, Associate Degree, or Certificate in apparel design and development or related field.

Experience:
• 3-5 years of prior apparel industry or related experience in design and development.
• Ability to apply and perform design skills such as drawing, ideation, use of fabrications & colors, visual presentation development and layout.
• Ability to apply and perform apparel construction techniques to create 3D concept translations and mock-ups.
• Must have working knowledge of apparel pattern making, textiles, and the apparel product creation to manufacturing process.
