Kat House Productions Sues Christian Dior

Kat House Productions LLC, Owners of the Trademark Surf Chick, Sue Christain Dior for Allegied Trademark Infringement.
Kat House Productions LLC, a female owned surf company based in Ventura, California, has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit in federal court against Christian Dior Couture, S.A. Kat House’s complaint alleges that Dior SURF CHICK products infringed upon Kat Houses rights in its SURF CHICK R and SURF CHICK GET WET R trademarks. The complaint also alleges that Christian Dior intentally used the trademarks without permission from Kat House Productions and that Christine Dior’s use of the trademark has confused the public.
Kat Merrick, Kat House’s CEO and co- founder, has been an avid surfer since the 1970s. Merrick and co-founder Patricia Wagner have been marketing and selling Surf Chick R clothing and accessories together since 1996. Kat House’s SURF CHICK R products include boardshorts, swimwear, dresses, T-shirts, hats, purses, backpacks, surfboards and surf related hard goods. Kat House’s SURF CHICK R products are created based on the Founders Kat Merrick and Patricia Wagner’s core roots in surfing and commiment to the surfing community.
