Amsoil Chaparral Honda Team Continues To Add To Their Standing Points

April 2nd, 2005 – With only four races left in the THQ AMA Supercross Series, AMSOIL Chaparral Honda Team Riders continues to add to their overall points.

Kevin Windham started out the night strong by finishing 2nd in his heat race just behind 2004 THQ AMA Supercross Champion Chad Reed.  Kevin had a very good gate selection for the main event, but did not get the start he needed to contend for a spot on the podium.  However, Kevin battled from 16th and moved up to 7th by lap 14.  He was able to hold onto 7th and grab enough points to remain 3rd overall in the 250cc point standings.  Not a bad result considering the track was hard packed and slippery adding to the challenge for all the athletes.

In traditional form, Mike LaRocco showed the consistency that has earned him an overall 4th point standing in the 2004 AMA THQ Supercross Series.  LaRocco finished 3rd in his heat race won by the overall nights winner James Stewart.  In the main event, Mike had a solid start settling into 8th place overall.  Mike battled the two French riders Vuillemin and Tortelli throughout the twenty lap race.  Mike eventually was able to pass Vuillemin forcing the “Rock” to settle for 5th overall on the night.

Still sidelined from an injury substained at the Orlando race, Joaquim Rodriguez was not able to race in Dallas. He will be racing again soon, but it has not yet been determined as to when he will return to action.  Joaquim currently holds fourteenth place overall in the 125cc East Coast THQ AMA Supercross Point Standings.

Josh Grant had a great start in his heat race, but eventually came in contact with Josh Hansen in a corner causing both riders to crash.  He was able to recover and continue the race but did not earn a transfer spot into the main.  Josh entered the LCQ confident in his ability to make the main, however this was not to be Josh’s night as he was forced to watch the main event from the sidelines.  Josh sits in ninth place for the 125cc East Coast THQ AMA Supercross Point Standings.
