This unique event held on the upper Colorado River is to celebrate community, including a group of women from B4BC’s Survivorship Community who will be attending a B4BC Wellness Retreat. B4BC’s first wellness retreat took place in Vail 18 years ago, and the organization is thrilled to be back where it began with B4BC’s Wellness and Marketing Director Megan Pischke. B4BC’s Chasing Sunshine Mountain and Ocean Retreats are rooted in the outdoors with the idea being that nature is medicine. The retreats are about empowerment and hope for young breast cancer patients and survivors, the focus being on supporting them and enhancing their path to wellness and long-term survivorship. To date, B4BC’s Survivorship Fund has provided grants to more than 250 survivors and thrivers to attend these outdoor based Wellness Retreats free of cost.

Megan Pischke, a breast cancer thriver herself, is the creator and director of these retreats. For this Colorado retreat B4BC will be hosting 12 attendees who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and managing the path of healing. Workshops for the retreat include yoga therapy, somatic breathwork, acupuncture, river rafting, stand-up paddleboarding, e-bike trail rides, hiking, journaling, meditation and delicious nutritious local eats.

“My idea is to celebrate the women who will be attending the wellness retreat, as well as all women who have battled breast cancer. And at the same time fundraise for these special events we do at B4BC within our survivorship communities, along with all of the invaluable education and outreach we provide within North America and beyond,” says Megan Pischke. “I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Mason and Lorrie at State Bridge and with our collective community efforts to be able to bring an initiative like this to life.”

B4BC would like to thank State Bridge Lodge for hosting the event, its wellness retreat sponsor Traeger Grills and other supporting sponsors New Belgium, Foods of Vail, QuietKat E-Bikes, Suja Organic, Yeti, GoPro, The North Face, Zeal Optics, Arbor Skateboards, Dragon Alliance, CBDayz, Akai Life, Dakine, Sun Bum, VonZipper, Liquid Death and more!
