SIA.07 Participation Requests on Record Pace

McLean, VA (February 27, 2006) –   Straight on the heels of the successful SIA.06 SnowSports Trade Show, SnowSports Industries America (SIA) reports that space requests for current exhibitors and new companies interested in exhibiting at SIA.07 are coming in at the fastest pace ever.   SIA anticipates that with nearly all past exhibitors expected to return and the strong demand from new companies, the Show will be officially sold out by the end of March.

To date, SIA has already received completed applications from 25 new members.   In addition, the increase in space requested by current exhibitors and new companies is considerably higher throughout the Show Floor, including the “Snowboard Hall”.  At this time, due to the current high demand for additional space from SIA.06 exhibitors as well as the 25 new members already processed, SIA must implement a waiting list for new exhibitors just coming in and requesting space for SIA.07.

In addition, requests for information about membership, sponsorship, Fashion Show participation and other association related products are at an all-time high.  Nearly 50% of sponsorship items are already committed for next year including badge and show bag inserts, floor plan logo spots and more.

Returning to Mandalay Bay for the fourth year, SIA.06 (January 23-26) hosted manufacturers, retailers, reps, resorts, industry associates and alumni, elite athletes, media personalities and more. With 350,715 net square feet and 900 brands exhibiting in 3500 booths – SIA.06 was THE show for the snow sports industry.

The buying power index, measured by an independent outside firm – Leisure Trends Group, for the Show indicated a 1.3% increase with 90.2% of the U.S. retail buying power represented at SIA.06.  According to Jim Spring, president of Leisure Trends Group, there were strong gains in retailer attendance from New England, Pacific, Mountain, Mid-Atlantic and East North Central regions.  Accordingly, SIA reported that buyer attendance was on par with last year recording 4,725 buyers from 1,571 shops and representing 16,810 storefronts worldwide.

The SIA.07 SnowSports Trade Show will take place at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas on January 22-25, 2007.   New companies interested in signing up for booth space and membership are encouraged to contact Pat Grenke at 703-506-4222 in the membership department to secure their spot on the waiting list.
