Panelist at Virgin Megastore Fashion Show

Andy Howell, Creative Director of eggprojects, inc., has been selected to be a panelist at Virgin Megastore Hollywood’s “Girls Rock” celebrity fashion show on May 3, 2006. The event, hosted by fashion and TV personality Janice Dickinson, includes a panelist discussion/debate, fashion show and reception. The show is part of Virgin Megastores' plan to offer customers the best in pop culture merchandise by expanding its lines of rock 'n roll fashion.

"There is a massive trend right now for music-based retail to move towards a more lifestyle-oriented experience," says Howell. "It’s exciting to see Virgin at the forefront of this movement."

Howell turned pro-skater in ’89 and set the tone for skating during the next decade. His skateboarding philosophy was like that of his artwork: do something different, stretch the boundaries, make a statement.

During his career as a professional skateboarder, Howell received his visual communications degree and co-founded Element Skateboards and New Deal Skateboards. As Creative Director of New Deal, Howell ushered in the existing trend of graffiti- and cartoon-influenced graphics on skateboards and tee-shirts. In 1999, Howell turned his brand-building experience to the mainstream with the creation of Imagewerks, Inc., a branding and advertising agency.

An internationally acclaimed artist who has been featured in numerous publications on creative elements of contemporary art movements, Howell has also been recognized by The Wall Street Journal, Transworld Skateboarding, Thrasher, and SPIN for his guerilla marketing tactics.

Created as a conduit for designs from cutting-edge artists to reach mainstream markets, eggprojects was launched just one year ago by mavens of the youth culture Andy Howell and Zach Mandelstein, originator of L.R.G. Clothing. The rapid success of eggprojects brands has made waves in the fashion industry from trendsetting boutiques like TRUE in San Francisco, CA, to mass-market megaliths like Target.
