Surf Camps Set to Storm East Coast Beaches in Summer 2006

Irvine, Calif., – Billabong and Jason Borte Surf School are pleased to announce the arrival of Billabong Surf Camps at several prominent surfing locations along the East Coast of the United States. Beginning June 2006, the camps will take place in Virginia Beach, Virginia; Gilgo Beach, New York; and Atlantic Beach, North Carolina.

Jason Borte is a former East Coast professional champion, middle school teacher and author of the best-selling book PIPE DREAMS, A SURFER’S JOURNEY, depicting the life of seven-time world surfing champion Kelly Slater. Since 1992, Jason has organized and implemented surf camps in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Cuba. Drawing upon his background in education, he has developed a user-friendly program that has proven to produce competent, responsible, well-rounded surfers in an amazingly short period of time. According to Jason, “Billabong is a true surfing family, and I admire their dedication to educating the next generation of surfers.”
