Local Pros Defending HB Against Fox Surf Team Riders at "My Spot" Event
Thursday, July 20 - a day to grab your bikini and boardshorts, skip out of work and head to Goldenwest in Huntington Beach for Fox’s My Spot Jesse Evans surf event. The first of a series running through December, these community surf competitions feature Fox team riders defending home breaks as peers and industry heavyweights come to battle it out in the waves, trying to take the local pro down.
World-class surfers go head to head competing against each other to land in the Final, a 2 man surf-off against pro surfer Jesse Evans at his local spot in HB.
Fox team riders Kalani Robb, Eric Geiselman, Che Stang, Jesse Merle Jones, and Adam Virs will be there surfing against each other, but just for fun, as real competition starts the next day.
My Spot Jesse Evans is a lighthearted and fun way for these powerful surfers to kick off 10 days of demanding contest surfing where pressure and stakes are high as the US Open of Surf starts July 21. Fox secured an international judging panel to determine that the best surfer wins, no matter what break he represents.
“We’re really excited about this contest platform,” Chris Drummy, Fox Surf Promotions Manager, says. “We tested it out last year in Atlantic City with East Coast rider Andrew Gesler and the response was unbelievable. With some minor adjustments this new series will change how pro/am contests are run. There’s a lot to gain if someone can take on Jesse, but it will mostly be fun for everyone.”
If you can’t make it to the beach, the after-party is at the HB Brewery on Main Street at 6pm. The winner might even buy you a drink!

Round 1 (8 Heats) 8:00 to 10:00am.
Round 2 (4Heats) 10:05 to 11:05am.
Round 3 (4 Heats) 11:10 to 12:10pm.
Vestal Expression Session 12:15 to 12:45pm.
Round 4 (2 Heats) 12:50 to 1:30pm.
Quarter Finals (2 Heats) 1:35 to 2:15pm.
Semi Finals (1 Heat) 2:20pm to 2:45pm.
Final “My Spot” (1 Heat) 3:00pm to 3:30pm.

Awards Right after Final
After Party (HB Brewery) 6:00pm till we get kicked out
