Connecticut Native Mike Fish Lands Associate Editor Post at TW Surf

TransWorld SURF today announced that Mike Fish has joined the team as associate editor.

"We're thrilled to have Mike on board," says managing editor and senior content manager Casey Koteen. "We first got to know Mike through his contributions as a freelance writer, which impressed us from the start. So when we began our search to fill the position, he was an obvious candidate. Mike brings to the table a tremendous combination of journalistic skills, a wealth of East Coast knowledge, and impressive multi media experience. That combination fits perfectly with the new heights we're taking the TransWorld SURF brand to. On top of it all, he's just a great all around guy, and we're looking forward to his contributions to the company."

"I usually try not to hire people more handsome than me," says TransWorld SURF's editor and content director Chris Cote. "But sometimes that doesn't work out. Seriously though, Mike is going to be a key player in the growth of TransWorld SURF in all aspects of our business, from content creation to editorial direction. We welcome him with open arms, and hopefully I'll think of a better nickname for him than my original one, Abercrombie and Fish."

"I'm extremely excited and honored to join the forefront of international surf media at Transworld SURF," says Fish, "I'm also looking forward to finally reconnecting with my west coast roots. I've always dreamed of living in the San Diego area."

Fish is a native of Connecticut, but has family roots in Southern California. He attended Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelors of Art, majoring in English.

After graduating, he worked as a reporter at The New Canaan Advertiser in New Canaan, Connecticut, and began freelancing for a number of publications including The Montauk Pioneer, Eastern Surf Magazine and Surfline. In 2003, Fish was selected to fill the Associate Editor position at ESM, where he spent three and a half years working with and learning from industry legends Dick Meseroll and Tom Dugan, as well as editor Matt Pruett.

Fish is an avid musician and has worked on commercial projects for ESPN, BET, and Grey Global Advertising as well as playing and recording original material. He is also regularly involved in volunteer work, the most recent of which was recording audio books for the blind and dyslexic with the RFBD New Haven, Connecticut unit.

You can reach Mike via email at, or (760) 722-7777 ext. 150.
