Texas Skate Jam Presented by Zumiez Raises Over $83,000 For Make-A-Wish Foundation
Adio and Southshore Distribution’s 10th Annual
SouthSide Skatepark, Houston, TX (November 8, 2006) – Adio Footwear and SouthShore Distribution held the 10th annual Texas Skate Jam benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at SouthSide Skatepark in Houston, TX. With over 50 top skateboard pros and 700 guests in attendance, the Texas Skate Jam raised in excess of $83,000.

The family-friendly event, hosted by Brian Schaefer and Ryan Clemens of Spotlight Productions, featured Best Street Trick, Best Bowlrider, and Zumiez' Best "Couch" Trick contests, a booth village with the Spitfire Mechanical Bull, product auctions and the "Biggest Product Toss Ever."

One highlight of the event was the presentation of a $5,800 check from 2005 Texas Skate Jam Wish Kid Johnny Romano to the Make-A-Wish Foundation's founder, Tommy Austin. Johnny chose to donate his royalty payment from the Real Skateboards Johnny Romano limited edition pro model skateboard.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life- threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The Texas Skate Jam raised over $300,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation since its inception in 1996.
