686 Signs Patrick McCarthy to Global Team

Pat McCarthy has been a fixture on the professional snowboarding scene for some time.  He started riding in 1989 at Stevens Pass, Washington and soon became inspired by the terrain at Mt. Baker to make the move and become a permanent local. Not your typical contest guy, Pat craves the Northwest backcountry style of snowboarding, whether it’s accessing it by a snowmobile or hiking out of a lift. 

Patrick spent last season filming for Mack Dawg’s People and counts that crew as some of his favorite people to ride with.  Pat will work with the Mack Dawg movie again in the 2007-2008 season and also plans to visit Turkey and Spain on editorial trips.  He was also one of the only riders to have a photo printed in every single major US magazine last month. 

“Pat and I hung out a lot on the road last year and I saw his motivation and skills first hand, so when we started talking about the team, it just made sense,” says Will Redd, team and promotions manager, “He’s a great fit and his riding and personality really speaks for itself. I’m extremely happy to welcome him to the family and look forward to working together more in the future.”
