Factory Design Labs Celebrates Ten

From Niche Design Studio To International Digital Agency

Denver, CO - February 15, 2007 - Factory Design Labs, the Denver-based digital design collective, marks its 10-year anniversary today. What started as a shoestring design operation in the basement of founder, Jonas Tempel's mother's basement, is now a full-service marketing agency with roster of national and international clients.

"It was and still is important for me to create the kind of company that truly embraces the concept that people thrive emotionally and professionally when given the opportunity to do the things that they love in an environment that rewards individuality," said Chairman Jonas Tempel about starting Factory. "Today this company and its work are a reflection of that spirit as represented by the people and clients we work with who have the passion and confidence to be unique."

Far from its humble beginnings churning out rave fliers for local DJ's, in just ten short years, Factory has become globally recognized agency with a client list that includes Audi of America, Sony Pictures, Intrawest Colorado, Dell Computers, SCARPA North America, SCARPA Italia, Adam Sandler, Oakley, Brine, Rawlings and Palmer Snowboards to name a few.

Number ten in the Denver Business Journal's 2006 ranking of Denver-area advertising agencies - a jump from number 18 in the previous year - the privately held agency has been growing exponentially over the past decade. The company payroll had just two employees when it was founded in 1997. Factory had 42 employees as of June 2006 and now currently employees 60 people.

"Factory has grown substantially over the past three years, largely attributable to the incredibly talented people who work here," said CEO Scott Mellin. "We are so fortunate to have created a culture that allows this group to thrive personally and professionally. Their skills are poured into each of our clients brands - daily."

With offices in the old Jonas Brothers Fur building on 10th and Broadway, Factory still maintains the grassroots feel it was founded on, but one look at the agency's portfolio proves that it is no longer a local, underground operation.
