Matix Nominated Apparel Brand of the Year!

Matix is proud to announce its nomination for ‘Apparel Brand of the Year’ for 2006 by the Surf Industry Manufacturer’s Association (SIMA).

‘Apparel Brand of the Year’ is awarded to the men’s apparel brand that featured the most exciting designs, increased its brand appeal, and grew its business in 2006. The final winner will be announced at the SIMA Image Awards ceremony on May 18, 2007 down in Cabo during the Surf Summit.

In 2006, Matix’s Marc Sweaters tested the bounds of color theory, Ashers redefined fleece construction and Matix continued to maintain the integrity of its denim collection by being nearly the last standing brand committed to the use of premium fabric made in the USA. Matix also introduced Turbo Stretch Technology and continued to offer the revolutionary Gusto Party Pants. Turbo Stretch may have been controversial in its use of genetic engineering of kangaroo muscle, anabolic steroids, and plutonium…but, Gusto technology undoubtedly solved many a man’s age old problem swiftly and efficiently.

Matix thanks all our supporters and our fellow nominees for helping in the way of progress.

Matix was founded by pro skateboarders tired of clothes disintegrating upon contact between ass and concrete. Never ones to be closed-minded, Matix has also naturally embraced the likes of surf and snow talent as family members equally dedicated the cause of progress.

With this in mind, team members like Marc Johnson, Daewon Song, Jeremy Jones, and Gabe Kling all actively inspire Matix styling. The brand is marketed to young men in the core market, but is worn by men of all ages that appreciate timeless styling combined with quality fabrication.
