Go Skateboarding Day Recognized By U.S. Congress!
IASC is excited to announce that June 21st has officially been proclaimed Go Skateboarding Day by the U.S. House of Representatives! Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D- CA,Orange County) recognized June 21st as the official holiday of skateboarding as well as IASC for the work done encouraging young people to get outside and skate.

Thanks to the support of Fed Ex, IASC recently sent out over 800 GSD kits to retailers and manufacturers to help the holiday celebrations get rolling and put the word out to skateboarders around the globe. After the huge success of events last year, the number of people on skateboards this June 21st will be huge! Promotions for the 4th annual holiday are taking place on web sites, in skateparks, at retailers and many are happening in multiple locations promising to show the strength in numbers of the skateboarding community.

The holiday is coming quickly as you can tell by the list of events lining up on and June 21st is looming large on your iCal. Here are just a few of the highlights so far; Jessup Grip Tape , will be giving out free sheets of grip at retailers across the U.S. The AST Dew Tour is supporting Go Skateboarding Day with the opening stop of the tour taking place on June 21st in Baltimore. Proffessor Schmitt will be holding it down in Baltimore where skate shop employees will learn how to make a skateboard through the Create A Skate program. Element skateboards will be hosting the worldwide premier of their film 'This is My Element' on the official holiday of skateboarding! IASC has joined together with ASR again this year to support retailer events with the DocuMENTAL contest which sends winning retailers to ASR in San Diego. You could win a launch ramp & grindrail combo in the Freshpark GSD Sweepstakes. Cowtown in Arizona has so many events and promotions going down in multiple locations, we can't even list them all!
