Waren Bros. Supergirl “Actionista” Collection to Launch
at Los Angeles-Based Nine Star
Proceeds from Launch Event to Benefit Boarding for Breast Cancer

Warner Bros. Consumer Products today announced the official launch date for the Supergirl actionista collection.  On Thursday, July 19 Warner Bros. will unveil the unique Supergirl collection to media, athletes, celebrities and VIP customers at the Los Angeles-based surf/skate/snow shop, Nine Star.  A portion of the proceeds from the evening event will benefit Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC).

Warner Bros. has re-imagined the S-shield, the universally recognized symbol of strength and leadership and created a powerful symbol for today’s action sports girl.  The collection of merchandise captures and recognizes the empowerment spirit of these girls whose independence and creativity represents a style all its own.

The Supergirl collection will include: limited edition shoes by etnies Girl; halter sundresses by FEW; limited edition flip-flops by Havaianas; t-shirts and a bikini by Rip Curl; tank tops by Sk8grl; a t-shirt by Surf Diva, custom surfboards by Guy Okazaki and one-of-a-kind Supergirl artwork by Colleen Hanley.  All items will be exclusively sold at Nine Star.

“Today’s young women of all types are powerful expressionists, but in action sports we see unique pursuits of passion where independence, creativity and style are critical elements of both the sports these girls engage in and the lifestyles they live,” said Karen McTier, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products.  “The Supergirl shield is an equally powerful expression of independence and strength—and now we’ve added a new level of style specifically for the action sports girl.”

Partial proceeds from the sale of Supergirl product will be donated to B4BC, a non-profit, youth-focused education, awareness and fundraising foundation.  Members of B4BC will be onsite throughout the evening promoting awareness about breast cancer, the importance of early detection and the value of an active lifestyle.

"We are honored that Warner Bros. recognizes our role in supporting the Supergirl actionista,” said Justine Chiara, executive director of B4BC.  “Being active in sports from a young age is a proactive way for women to prevent breast cancer.  We encourage every girl to be an actionista and empower themselves.”

In May, Warner Bros. successfully launched the Supergirl fashionista collection at the Los Angeles boutique, Intuition. Both Supergirl identities will collide in September at S3 Supergirl Jam, a skate, snow, style event to be held in San Diego, Calif.  More details are to follow.
