Giro Eyewear Launches Online Training Program to Support Retailers

Giro Eyewear, an emerging brand in the sport eyewear category, continues its commitment to the industry by launching an online training program for its new range of snow goggles. The engaging program covers key brand, technology and product features, enhancing in-store clinics and presentations by allowing eyewear dealers and staff to access Giro Goggle features and benefits information directly over the internet.

Created in tandem with 3point5 and Influence Technologies, the online training program assesses comprehension and offers qualified participants the opportunity to purchase Giro products at special Industry-only prices. The 3point5 online training program is designed to supplement additional Giro Eyewear materials and collateral such as “Giro Goggles 101” - a comprehensive manual that explains in detail everything that makes Giro eyewear unique – from Super Fit™ Engineering to True Sight™ Technology and beyond.

Further demonstrating its commitment to the category and the industry for the long haul, Giro has assembled an A-list roster across disciplines, including snowboarders Antti Autti, Wyatt Caldwell, Risto Mattila, Luke Wynen, Kelly Clark and 2007 X-Games Halfpipe Gold Medal Winner Steve Fisher; Freeskiers Peter and Michael Olenick, Iisko Heiskanen, and Anais Caradeux; and Alpine Skiers Eric Schlopy, Resi Stiegler, and Marco Sullivan.  Additionally, Giro has committed in excess of two million dollars to an aggressive marketing campaign including in-store fixtures, support of the team, broad-based endemic and consumer advertising, event sponsorship, on-snow demos and a full-scale public relations campaign.

“We’ve come to market with all of the supporting elements required to build a successful brand at retail in place,” said Aaron Brookes, Giro Business Unit Manager. “The online training program is a key part of our comprehensive effort to support retailers, and demonstrates our intent to be a serious player in the eyewear market.”

Giro has enjoyed a tremendous response to their initial goggle offering at the retail level, with several dealers booking Giro goggles at a ratio close to 1-1 with their helmet orders. Giro’s collection of snow goggles features six Super Fit™ engineered models - the Root™, Lyric™, Score™, Verse™ and the youth-specific Adler™ and Chico™. Prices range from $129.00 - $25.00 depending on style and lens choices, with availability at specialty snow and outdoor retailers for the 2007/08 season.
