SIA Trade Show: ONE FAMILY. ONE HOUSE. ONE YARD!

Progressive Exhibit Space to Offer Ultimate Experience for SIA Trade Show Attendees

Bringing together art, entertainment and image with hotel luxury lounges and competition all packed into one cultural zone, the Yard returns to the SIA.08 SnowSports Trade Show, January 29-February 1, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, with a new purpose and home on the SIA Show floor.  A progressive exhibit space presented by SnowSports Industries America (SIA), New York based global media platform, Frank151 and designed and built by Seattle’s own Dept. Of Energy, a division of Utility Inc., this featured space will emanate the lifestyle and branding synonymous with the snow sports industry

The Yard will serve as the ultimate community zone throughout the four days of the SIA Show hosting daily events and activities as well as featuring several renowned artists in both the music industry and the world of art.  In addition, Show goers will be able to reserve private meeting lounges designed by DOE with features unique to THE BLOCK HOTEL. Each lounge can be booked by the hour to host a meeting, de-stress and knock out a video game or just steal away for some relaxation time.

A bevy of new events are slated to take place in the Yard starting with the 1st Annual Ping Pong throw down, Paddle Royale, commencing at 9:00 am on Opening Morning, Tuesday, January 29.  A custom-designed ping pong table by DOE sets the stage for table tennis enthusiasts alike each day of the Show.  Attendees can also get their “game on” by chucking cowhide at industry Big Wigs, professional athletes and others in the SIA-sponsored Dunk Tank, with all proceeds benefiting the Boarding for Breast Cancer.  And the “buck” doesn’t stop there for charitable donation opportunities as famed graffiti artist and now clothing designer STASH will be creating art live during the Show for attendees to bid on.  Additionally, the Artist Collaboration Conspiracy program from 686 will also be featured with custom art installations showcased by Dalek, Shepard Fairey and Andy Howell and available for bidding throughout the four-day Show.  Proceeds from both art auctions will also benefit the Boarding for Breast Cancer.

FUEL TV joins the list of partners and will host a daily Eat and Greet during the lunchtime hour while previewing the latest in FUEL TV’s shows and specials.   Additionally footage will loop daily 24/7 on screens in the Yard.  SNOWBOARD Magazine will mark their fourth anniversary with a photo installation showcase featured in containers inside the Yard.   The installation showcase will include a collection of the magazine’s covers from some top photographers in the industry such as Cole Barash, Zizo, J2, Dean Blotto Gray and Mike Yoshida.   "SNOWBOARD has always been known for having the most innovative and inspirational cover images and this installation is the perfect way to show off the hard work of our photographers,” says publisher Jeff Baker.

And certainly not to go unnoted is the live entertainment schedule for each evening starting at 6:00 pm.  DJ Mark Frank Montoya (MFM) will kick things off on Tuesday, January 29; followed by DJ Muggs on Wednesday and the band Team Facelift on Thursday.

“This year the Yard continues to grow in its aspect and importance to the show. I feel tradeshows need to circumvent themselves as they are no longer just a business transaction, they are reinventing themselves to include educational, interactive and lifestyle solutions to the current market they reside in,” says chief visual ops director for DOE, Styk.
