AIRBORNE Media Adds Key New Staff

Effective immediately, both Kristina Dechter and Monica Campana will join the team at Airborne Media's FOAM Magazine as Editor in Chief and Associate Publisher, respectively. Kristina will oversee FOAM Magazine editorial and its digital offshoots. Monica will oversee FOAM advertising, circulation, and marketing across all media platforms.  Both have talent, experience, and knowledge, ideally suited for their new roles.

Kristina began her career at Lucky Magazine, shortly after it was launched by the Conde Nast Publications, in 2001, where she served as the Associate Fashion News Editor. Subsequently, she worked as a stylist for Paper Magazine, where she remains a Contributing Editor. In 2005, she became the Style Editor at Time Out New York, where she worked up to this point, while continuing a long-standing freelance relationship with Lucky magazine as well as frequently contributing to the New York Times.

"I'm so excited to take the reins at FOAM," says Kristina. "The action sports industry is vibrant and creative, and I want FOAM to be the industry's ambassador to the worlds of fashion and culture."

Kristina replaces Monika Steinberg, who guided the magazine through its first four years; in her new capacity as Editor at Large, Steinberg will continue to provide behind the scenes input and insight.

Joining FOAM as its Associate Publisher is Monica Campana. Monica began her career at TransWorld Media in 1996, working as an Advertising Sales Executive for four years, selling across multiple action sports platforms, including TWSurf, TWSkateboarding, TWSnowboarding, all three respective Business publications and all three respective online sites. In 2000, she became the Advertising Sales Manager, and ultimately, in 2003, the Associate Publisher of the leading action sports title, TransWorld Skateboarding, ushering the title through some of its most successful years. In 2005, Monica left TransWorld to work as the Brand Manager and National Sales Manager for the influential and trend-setting Salinas Swimwear, distributed in the U.S. by Marpessa Inc.

"I'm thrilled to be at the forefront of the ever growing fashion and lifestyle movement led by the action sports industry," comments Monica. "FOAM will shepherd this ongoing movement by bringing broader and more timely visibility to the influential trends and the unique individuals behind them.  FOAM will shine as the cornerstone of fashion and culture for the action sports industry."

"We're very excited to have these two dynamic and talented women join us," says Airborne Media LLC Group Publisher and President of Media, Ross Garrett.  "Together, they possess the sensibility, knowledge of media, and capabilities to make FOAM a gift to the industry, and a strong representation of the creativity our lifestyle inspires to the larger world."
