Snow Sports Video Game for WII™ Teams Up with POWDER Magazine to Present 2009 POWDER Video Awards & Reader Poll

POWDER Magazine landed We Ski & Snowboard™ as presenting sponsor for the ninth edition of the publication’s popular event, the POWDER Video Awards and Reader Poll Presented by We Ski & Snowboard. The sponsor’s much-anticipated video game, endorsed by both the U.S. Ski Team and the U.S.A. Snowboarding Association, is an exciting and fun winter sports experience developed by NAMCO BANDAI Games America for Wii, and aligns perfectly with the biggest awards show for the high performance skiing industry.
“Skiing continues to set new levels in performance and technology in action sports, and it is an indelible part of family sporting culture globally,” says Alain Mazer, head of branding for We Ski & Snowboard, NAMCO BANDAI’s much anticipated release for Nintendo Wii. “We built upon our Wii Balance Board™ experience and developed what we believe is the most fun and authentic-feeling experience around, with the hope that the sport and spirit of skiing and boarding will translate in new ways from the mountain to the living room and vice-versa.”

The perennial ski industry event – the POWDER Video Awards and Reader Poll Presented by We Ski & Snowboard – will take place at the Jerome Hotel in Aspen, Colorado, January 24, 2009.  Coinciding with the Winter X Games, the event honors the top 10 male and top five female skiers of the year as voted on by POWDER readers, and the year’s top ski films chosen by an appointed panel of experts.  The event notoriously plays host to some of the biggest names in skiing, a who’s who of action sports athletes and industry heavy weights, as well as surprise guests, celebrities and entertainers.
We Ski & Snowboard has advanced manifold since the release of its critically acclaimed predecessor, We Ski™, with miles of free-riding runs, open environments and over-the-top functionality for both skiers and snowboarders, easy for beginners and challenging for even the most advanced riders. The game releases in March, but to learn more and experience the fresh powder, pristine slopes and unstoppable winter fun now, visit <> .
