Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports, today announced a three-year agreement between the Winter Dew Tour and Eurosport 2, granting the international sports channel the sole rights to broadcast exclusive, live coverage of the inaugural Winter Dew Tour throughout Europe. Eurosport 2 broadcasts to 33 million households in 11 languages across 46 countries.
“We are thrilled to offer a live telecast of the Winter Dew Tour in Europe through Eurosport 2,” said Wade Martin, President of Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports. “This is a terrific opportunity for fans throughout Europe to see live coverage of the best action sports athletes in the world.”
"As a new generation sports channel, Eurosport 2 is committed to promoting high quality alternative sports,” said Charles-Antoine Moulin, Head of Eurosport 2. “The agreement with the Winter Dew Tour is a significant step in our strategy to offer the very best sports entertainment in Europe."
With live and exclusive coverage of the superpipe and slopestyle disciplines in the sports of snowboarding and freeskiing, Eurosport 2 will bring unsurpassed access to such snowboarding giants as Shaun White, Hannah Teter, Andreas Wiig, Steve Fisher and Gretchen Bleiler. Apparent Gravity Media (AGM) brokered the licensing transaction for Alli with Eurosport. AGM represents and distributes the Winter Dew Tour media rights worldwide.
Similar to the Dew Tour’s summer competition structure, the Winter Dew Tour is based on a cumulative points system as the top snow athletes battle it out for a piece of the $1.5 million prize purse and the chance to take home the Dew Cup at the conclusion of the season in February.
