"Down the Line" Surf Talk Radio Expands to Two Hours
Firewire surfboard offered on Surfdog Millionaire; Core sponsors align themselves with opportunity

Already into its second year on XTRA Sports 1360, San Diego's Down The Line surf talk radio is expanding to two hours beginning March 1, 2009. Airing every Sunday from 7am-9am on XTRA Sports1360AM, Down The Line is hosted by industry insiders Scott Bass (SURFER magazine) and Marty Thomas (ex ASP WCT tour veteran). The show offers candid insight, interesting interviews and unique information in a live Sunday morning show as well as podcast on the internet through Apple's iTunes, XTRASports1360.com and SURFERmag.com. Other outlets are being added daily.

"Scott and I have a lot fun," said Thomas, a former pro surfer who at one point was ranked #9 in the world. "He (Scott) produces most of the segments and I do my darndest to stir things up a bit. We're a pretty good fit."

In the month of March Down The Line will be giving away a brand spanking new Firewire surfboard to the winner of the Surfdog Millionaire trivia contest. Surfdog Millionaire requires listeners to call-in and answer five trivia questions. For each question they answer correctly, the Surfdog Millionaire contestant receives an additional entry into the contest.  Scott & Marty will be picking the winning entry on March 29. That lucky person will get to choose any Firewire surfboard they prefer.

Anyone can enter by sending an email with FIRWIRE in the subject line of the email. You must include your name, age and hometown. Send the email to [email protected].

Down The Line recently added a string of solid sponsors to the shows lineup including Sanuk Sandals, Waterways Travel, Pipes Café, Hansen Surfboards, Baja Surf Adventures, The Surfing Plumber, Indies Trader Adventures, YouHaveOptions.Net, Kandui Island Resort, Latitude Zero Resort, Encinitas Surfboards, Joe Roper's Surfboard Repair, Jake's Del Mar and Destination Surf.

"We're ecstatic that the community has stepped up, realizes the advantage of marketing to San Diego's ocean loving enthusiasts, as well as surfers from all over the world. Our show has a lot of international traction via the podcast we've been putting out for five years on iTunes," said Scott Bass, Down The Line creator, producer and co-host. "Getting an additional hour is huge for the show. We have a lot to talk about from the environment to pro surfing to surf travel and really everything and anything that has to do with the surfing lifestyle and culture."
