At the LG Snowboard FIS World Cup halfpipe contest in Cypress, Canada, Shaun White took first place in the men’s division, and Kelly Clark won the women’s side.
In other snowboard news, Volcom’s Peanut Butter & Rail Jam tour hit Snoqualimie, Washington and Ryan Tucker won the 15 and under division, Chris Cloud took the 16 and over group, and Austin Sweetin won the open division.

In surf news, the USA surf team heading to the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Championships got a pep talk from USC football head coach Pete Carroll.
