All 4 The Kids First Event Raises $13,000 for Surf Aid International

All 4 the Kids would like to thank all of its supporters and attendees for helping them raise $13,000 for Surf Aid International through their “Night of Nets” event.  A 501(c)(3) organization (pending), All 4 the Kids’ mission is to provide children of global action sports destinations with tangible items that will help enrich and save their lives.

Held on March 21, at Huntington Beach’s Kona Café, the “Nets For Life” event was held in order to raise money to purchase insecticide treated mosquito nets that will be distributed to families and children of Indonesia's Sumatran coast, who otherwise would not be able to afford them.  A massive turnout of 240 people came to the event, far exceeding expectations.

World renowned gypsy jazz band , the Gonzola Quartet played during the cocktail hour and sit down dinner, while fine art pieces by Daniel Coleman and Steve Fawley were on display during the silent auction for items that included a Helicopter ride with a Mahe dinner for 2, diamond earrings, universal remote and many other excited items.

In attendance at the “Nets for Life” event were a host of supporters from the surf industry, including Ed Shaver from Quiksilver/DC Shoes, Rob Colby of Loan Market.net, Charger Taylor Evans, Seal Beach Legend Rick Verga, Indo pioneer Travis Potter, John Garret, Jay Cameron, Todd Cutuli and many other friends of the surf community in Seal Beach and the surrounding areas.

“Even though we feel like we are struggling due to this economic situation we have to remember that there are 3 billion people who live on less then $2 a day and many of us can still give back to those who are less fortunate,” said All 4 the Kids’ founder, Mike Reilly.  “Everyone that attended and supported the All 4the Kids Charity Dinner was able to give a little back to make the world a better place.”

To close the evening’s festivities, 80’s band Cover Me Bad was created frenzy on the dance floor, leading almost everyone in attendance to bust a move.

A special thanks goes out to all of our donors and sponsors who helped the event become a huge success. Check out all4thekids.org for photos of the event and more info on our cause and future events.
