Fuel TV Announces Amazing April Programming Line Up
April specials include the “10th Annual TransWorld SNOWboarding Riders' Poll Awards,” “Check 1, 2 – Eagles of Death Metal,” and the ocean animal rights documentary “Minds In The Water.”
FUEL TV, the only network dedicated to the lifestyle of action sports, announces an amazing line up specials for the month of April, including the “US Snowboarding Grand Prix – Boreal,” the progressive surf film “Dude Cruise,” and the award winning BMX film “End Search.”
10th Annual TransWorld SNOWboarding Riders' Poll Awards – 8:00pm ET/PT in Meet & Brotatoes
The “10th Annual Transworld Riders’ Poll Awards presented by Gore-Tex” honor snowboarding’s elite in various categories. Watch as the top snowboarders including Travis Rice, Pat Moore, Gigi Ruf, Jake Blauvelt, Scott Lago, Torah Bright, Marie-France Roy, Jamie Anderson, Natasza Zurek, Raewyn Reid, and Lucas Debari are nominated for the prestigious awards. The Roxy Pro kicks off the 2009 season on the beautiful Gold Coast of Australia. The world famous Snapper Rocks is the stage for the best surfers in the world to start their run for a world title. This year, defending world champion Stephanie Gilmore will have to fend off a group of young rookies including Paige Hareb, Coco Ho, and Sally Fitzgibbons. US Snowboarding Grand Prix – Boreal – 8:30pm ET/PT in Snow Pack
The second U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix of the season occurred at Boreal, California where riders were treated to an Olympic size 22-foot halfpipe. With the Vancouver Games a little over a year away, riders were excited to compete in a similar size pipe as they will see in Vancouver in order to hone the tricks needed to be a contender. On the men’s side, Steve Fisher stood above a crowded pack to take the victory, while the U.S. Snowboarding women riders continue to dominate with Hannah Teter, Kelly Clark and Gretchen Bleiler taking the top three spots.
Minds In The Water – 9:30pm ET/PT
“Minds In The Water” documents the journey of traveling professional surfer Dave Rastovich from an ocean minded admirer to an ocean activist. Through the charismatic journey of Dave’s life, witness an adventure spanning the globe from Australia and the Galapagos, to Tonga, Alaska and Japan. See first hand how one surfer’s quest to protect dolphins and whales has blossomed into a movement of like minds including fellow surfer Chris Del Moro and actress Hayden Panettiere. The message: If ocean minded people are to pass on a sustainable culture, then they must become responsible stewards of their coastal environment.

“éSPECIAL” features éS footwear’s internationally renowned pro skateboard team and documents their best skating, spanning three years of filming all over the world. Bobby Worrest, Javier Sarmiento, Nyjah Huston, Cale Nuske, Danny Garcia, Justin Eldridge, Rodrigo TX, and Rick McCrank each have their own montage of their most creative and progressive skating, aligned with music to suit their vibe. Visa US Snowboard Cross – Boreal – 8:30pm ET/PT in Snow Pack
The Visa Snowboardcross Championship Series crowns the best male and female snowboardcross as national champion. At the first stop of the series, Nate Holland and Graham Wantanabe continued their success from X Games and went one and two at Boreal. Lindsey Jacobellis continues to dominate the women’s field and lead each of her heats to climb onto the top spot on the podium.
