ASR Access Blends Buying with Retail Education this February
ASR and BRA offer the Retailer Survivor Series a day before the buying commences, February 3 and 4.

Retailers now have two major reasons to make the trip to San Diego this February; over 400 brands will showcase fall and back-to-school product lines and the Board Retailers Association’s (BRA) presents the Retailer Survivor Series. ASR Access, including ASR and Class@ASR, offers an unparalleled mix of brands, events and educational opportunities.

“Retailers are the backbone of our industry,” says Andy Tompkins, VP of ASR. “As part of ASR’s on-going commitment to support dealers, we’re providing a platform for brands to exhibit conveniently and affordably, so retailers can see as many brands as possible while gaining valuable business advice all under one roof.”

With just over two months until ASR Access opens, leading brands such as Billabong, Volcom, O’Neill, Vans, Body Glove, Fox, Nixon, Element, Ezekiel, IPath, Skull Candy, Atwater, Honoloua, Kustom, DaKine Rusty, Metal Mulisha, Lost, Sanuk, Sector 9, Levis, Planet Earth, Rhythm, World Industries and many more have signed on to unveil fall lines at ASR. Class@ASR will complement the brand mix with over 100 additional brands, including RVCA, Insight, Wesc, and Stussy, curated from boutique and fashion crossover categories.

“Attending ASR Access is imperative for retailers like me that need to connect with our manufacturing partners to plan our fall and back-to-school strategies. The retail/manufacturer synergy is key to a successful retailing season and ASR Access provides that opportunity in a two-day business-first environment,” says Duke Edukas, BRA Co-Chair and Owner of Surfside Sports.

During ASR, BRA is hosting a variety of retail-focused educational programs including the Retailer Survivor Series, which is a full-day program focused on merchandising and digital retailing on February 2nd.

“Every retailer should be taking advantage of the BRA Retailer Survivor Series and all the educational programs at ASR Access,” continues Edukas. “The Digital Retailing and Merchandising Courses being offered by BRA, speak to two of the most relevant issues facing specialty retailers today – online sales and open-to-buy. These one day, boot camp type events are specifically designed to educate and aid retailers in dealing with current issues.”

Course I - Merchandising Includes analytical trends, pricing and promotion, OTB, inventory budgeting and control, cash flow structuring and private label production.*

Course II - Digital Retailing Includes online retailing, driving web traffic, web analytics, social marketing and targeting the youth market.*
