This Week on The Weekly Update: The race to the Winter Games peaks as the Sprint U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix hits Park City, Utah, and the best snowboarders on the planet compete for the remaining spots on the U.S. Olympic Snowboarding Team. Frends crewmember Scotty Lago locks down his spot the first night as Vancouver-bound Shaun White debuts the double McTwist 1260. In the final contest of the series, Elena Hight joins Team USA and Greg Bretz gets the nod after tying with Luke Mitrani and JJ Thomas. In other snowboard news: Peetu Piiroinen wins pipe and slope at the Burton European Open; Iouri Podlatchikov and Marco Grilc win pipe and slope, respectively, at O’neill Evolution; and Volcom’s Peanut Butter and Rail Jam hits Sierra-at-Tahoe and Bear Mountain.
