This Week on The Weekly Update: In surf news, the ASP World Tour kicks off on Australia’s Gold Coast where tour veteran Taj Burrow launches the season with a big win at the Quiksilver Pro 2010 presented by Land Rover. In other surf news, aspiring filmmakers from the San Clemente Amateur Surf Film Workshop showcases their work at the Cabrillo Playhouse.
In skate, World Cup Skateboarding opens its concrete calendar with the Oakley Bowl-a-Rama, in Wellington, New Zealand, and the Vans Bowl-a-Rama, held at Bondi Beach in Australia – Brazil’s Pedro Barros goes two for two. The skate comp blowout also features the Love & Guts art show. And the Life Rolls On Foundation hosts its first-ever “They Will Skate Again” event for athletes coping with spinal cord injuries.
