Whistler Blackcomb Freezes Decade-Low Season Pass Prices
First Time Season Passes Available in Spring With Next Season EDGE Card Sales
Whistler Blackcomb has announced a price freeze on Unlimited Season Pass prices for the 2010/2011 season; the lowest price in a decade. The Adult Unlimited pass will be available for $1,099 if purchased by April 30, 2010. This is the first time passes are available for purchase in the spring, providing even more value to pass holders.
“Last season we had an incredible response to our lowest-price-in-a-decade season pass pricing,” says Stuart Rempel, senior vice president of marketing and sales at Whistler Blackcomb. “The strategy last year was to address a number of unknowns surrounding the Olympics and ensure guests had incredible value with their season pass. The response was incredible; we sold more unlimited season passes last year than the previous year. This showcased to us pass holder’s see significant value with this product and we wanted to maintain this momentum.”
An additional benefit to purchasing this spring includes savings on the introduction of the HST. If purchased before April 30, 2010 the 2010/2011 season pass total cost is $1,154 including five per cent GST. If guests wait, the early bird season pass will cost $1,299 plus 12 per cent HST bringing the total cost to $1,455. Savings are over $300 if purchased by April 30, 2010.
Extra bonuses available to season pass spring purchases include free unlimited summer 2010 and 2011 sightseeing, including access to the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola. Next winter, pass holders will receive 20 per cent off quick service food at the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain and Rendezvous and Glacier Creek Lodges on Blackcomb Mountain plus $50 off Whistler Blackcomb Ski and Snowboard School group lessons. In addition, first-time pass purchasers can purchase unlimited skiing for the rest of this season (April 1 to May 24, 2010) for an additional $39.
2010/2011 five and ten day EDGE Card prices have also been “frozen” and are available for $309 and $564 respectively. Available until April 30, EDGE Card purchasers will also save seven per cent by purchasing before HST is introduced. They will also receive one free extra early season day (for use before December 24, 2010), and one free summer sightseeing day. Unlimited 2010 spring skiing can be added on to next season’s EDGE Card purchases for $89.
