Wasserman Media Group Acquires Creative and Brand Development Agency, The Machine
New Creative Services Group to Bolster Action Sports and Youth Communications Business Offerings
Wasserman Media Group, a global sports and entertainment company, has acquired award-winning creative and design service agency, The Machine, in a deal announced today by Wasserman Action Sports’ Principal Steve Astephen and Executive Vice President Brad Lusky. Together, Wasserman’s leading Action Sports/Lifestyle division and The Machine can offer comprehensive services including advertising, graphic and product design, photography, illustration and more to companies and athletes looking to communicate and reach this sought after youth demographic.
Founded in 2002 by former professional snowboarders Jason Bump and Mark Hibdon, The Machine has worked with well-known sports entities including Adidas, Big 5 Sporting Goods, C1rca Footwear, DC Shoe Co, Monster Energy, and Sims Snowboards, among others.
The Machine will be integrated into Wasserman’s Carlsbad, California based Action Sports/Lifestyle division with Bump and Hibdon heading up the new full-service creative department. As part of the integration, The Machine will continue to represent current clients including Bear Mountain and North Star Resorts, Omatic Snowboards, Superheat Games, and ThirtyTwo Outerwear. With over 30 years combined experience specializing in the action sports industry, Bump and Hibdon will also provide insight into the youth demographics’ influence on the mainstream market.
