EVENT: Rip Curl San Clemente Team Signing & Raffle Raise Funds for Surfrider Foundation

Rip Curl San Clemente Event, Team Signing and Raffle Raise Funds for Surfrider Foundation
Saturday, Sept. 18th saw the Rip Curl Surf Center in San Clemente firing up the grill and warming up the turn tables for an afternoon of free food and pumping tunes by DJ FishFonics. Attendees were greeted with a free hat press offering up custom hats all afternoon and Surfing Heritage Museum was giving away prizes for those attendees who were keen on the surf trivia challenges.
At 3 p.m. the crowds lined up to get their poster, board, or newly minted hat signed by Rip Curl Pro Team Mick Fanning, Taylor Knox, Owen Wright, and Matt Wilkinson.
"It's always a win when we have our A-Team come together for a good cause,” said Rip Curl Marketing Director, Dylan Slater. “Rip Curl is proud of its San Clemente roots, and we're stoked we can get a few of the world's best surfers to spend some time with the local community."
The crowds were buying up raffle tickets for the chance to win E-Bomb wetsuits, tide watches, tees, bags, and the grand prize: a Mick Fanning Signature Series Limited Edition Ultimate OceanSearch Tide Watch (value: $500). All proceeds benefited the Surfrider Foundation and the grand prize watch, #069, is one of only 100 that will be available in the U.S. and was handed off by Fanning himself to the ecstatic winner.
"We are so grateful to Rip Curl for including Surfrider in this past weekend's festivities," said Vickie McMurchie, Surfrider Foundation's Community and Events Manager.  "It was a great way to engage with the community, spread the word about our mission, give out reusable bags and raise funds for the Surfrider Foundation."
