Lightning Bolt USA Hires Drew Lumsden As National Sales Manager

BG Porter Promoted to Creative Director

Lightning Bolt is proud to announce that seasoned sales veteran Drew Lumsden has joined its crew as national sales manager.  Additionally, long time Lightning Bolt resident BG Porter moves into creative director position.

“Drew has tremendous experience and will be a valuable asset to the team,” says Jonathan Paskowitz, president of Lightning Bolt, USA. “Drew’s solid relationships, soul surfing lifestyle and enthusiastic attitude will greatly contribute to our continued momentum and in bringing our brand to the next level.”

Lumsden boasts a strong sales background, holding prominent positions at a number of respected companies in the industry:  He held an international account executive position at the prestigious Opening Ceremony showroom in New York and with Warriors of Radness in Los Angeles; held a North American account executive position at Ksubi; and has sales experience at several high-end retailers, including Fred Segal.

“I’m excited to be joining Lightning Bolt’s hardworking and creative team,” says Lumsden. “Lightning Bolt is an iconic brand that has a strong pulse on the apparel market – we are committed to the core values of the brand as it originally existed, while also aiming to pursue innovation that will allow us to compete in the modern business climate.”  He continued, “Known for its quality and influence, the line is what we believe many retailers and buyers, in surf shops and boutiques alike, are looking for given the current economic state.”

Lumsden will work closely with retail accounts in all U.S. territories while focusing on continuing sales growth and helping to evolve the creative direction.  He will also focus on implementing new retail marketing strategies and partnering with retailers such as Bloomingdales and Fred Segal to host in-store promotional events. 

In other brand news, BG Porter who joined the company in 2008 has assumed the role of creative director. In his new position, he will be responsible for all design and merchandising of the collection and steer the brand from a creative standpoint. He will also oversee key accounts and work with the brand globally to ensure synergy. “I change light bulbs, recycle, dance like no one is watching and sing like no one can hear,” says Porter.  “And I’ll also oversee all design aspects of the brand.”
