September Surf Expo Forecasted to Break Records

With two months remaining before the September 8-10 Surf Expo, 90% of the trade show floor is already booked solid.

“We are very excited about the upcoming show,” reports Roy Turner, show director. “All of our categories are doing great and we expect to be sold-out within the month.”

In addition to industry stalwarts like Quiksilver, Billabong, Hurley, O’Neill, Rip Curl and Vans, the September line-up features 107 first-time exhibitors to Surf Expo such as Hippy Tree, Freewaters, Schtank Skateboards, Star Kites, Seattle Sports and Rum Therapy.

Bolstering the show’s growth has been the introduction of Dive, Surf Expo’s 9th product category. Featuring a 5,000 gallon demo tank with sessions by leading freediver Mike Wells and appearances by dive record-holder Martin Stepanek, Dive will present exhibitions by industry leaders such U.S. Divers, Cressi, Head Swim & Snorkeling, Oceanic Worldwide, Dive Industry Association, PADI, SSI, Dive BVI and Diving Sports.

Greeting these exhibitors will be retailers from across the U.S., the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe and Asian Pacific. Registrations of first-time retailers to Surf Expo are 40% up over the same week last year. In addition, hotel reservations are up 35% over last year. A complete list of registered retailers is available at

“Make your reservations and appointments now,” cautions Steven Fisher, Surf Expo senior buyer relations manager. “We are looking forward to a very strong September and you will want to make sure you have your spot reserved to see the lines.”

The next Surf Expo show is Thursday – Saturday, September 8-10, 2011, with Board Demo Day, Wednesday, September 7. For more information, go to
