COMUNE Announces Recent Moves

COMUNE PUSHES THE BOUNDARIES OF BRAND CREATIVITY WITHNEW INITIATIVES, FRESH WORKSPACE AND A POWER TEAM OF CONSULTANTS TO SPREAD THEIR LIFESTYLE GOSPEL

COMUNE is and always has been an ever-evolving family of, artists, designers, photographers, free thinkers, outsiders, and revolutionaries. Since their 2008 inception, COMUNE has been a dependable messenger of creativity, delivering not only clothing that reflects the lifestyle of carefree idealism but also providing a support system to the unique individuals who choose to live in this way.

COMUNE’S Drop City signature artist tee program and creative platform curated by Corey Smith has evolved into an artist-in-residency program for Fall 2011. The symbiotic platform, which best speaks to the overall culture of the brand, provides studio space to visiting artistic contributors who in turn will provide input to new products and designs, create blog content and ignite new initiatives for COMUNE.

Long time Drop City contributor Noel Sinclair Boyt is the first Artist-in-Residency for the month of August. To further expand awareness by promoting current programs like the Artist-in-Residency along with future initiatives and collectives COMUNE has hired Azione PR, lead by industry specialist Leland Drummond, to direct public relations for the brand. Azione’s main focus for 2011 and beyond with COMUNE will be to introduce new media and product placement opportunities to the brand and strengthen/broaden overall brand visibility—all the while staying true and concise to its original vision.

While COMUNE’S Creative Director Jacob McCabe is working tirelessly on new design concepts to grow and refine the collections of men’s and women’s apparel as well as to provide continuity in the design and overall brand image, Jason Bates’ DERELICTE Showroom has been selected to house the collections and manage sales and accounts needs.

The above innovations, coupled with the relocation of the company’s headquarters to the Downtown Los Angeles Arts District, which has proven to be a conductive hot bed for talented artists eager to become a part of the brand’s evolution, has allowed COMUNE to truly progress to new levels within its new community in electrified directions.
