Verde PR & Consulting Teams Up With Clients to Benefit

May 3, 2012

Verde PR & Consulting and its clients Solio, Nikwax, Vapur, and Princeton Tec partner with
Verde PR & Consulting, a full-service public relations, marketing, branding, and consulting agency has partnered with Grist, the nonprofit environmental organization to help acquire more donors during the month of May. Verde PR is showing its support on behalf of its clients, Solio, Vapur, Princeton Tec, and Nikwax. Products from each brand have been donated to Grist’s “Outdoor Kit” giveaway, which will reward select donors for their contributions.
“These giveaways allow us to thank our donors with a little something extra,” said Jennifer Mac Donald, Grist’s membership and annual support manager. “And since the products are donated, reader contributions are put to full use.”
Based in Seattle and more than a decade old, Grist is known for delivering environmental news and commentary with a wry twist that helps readers make sense of the complicated eco landscape. With a unique and quirky approach to fundraising, starting May 1, Grist’s staff will be resigned to speak in verse until they reach their goal of 3,000 donations. That means haikus, sonnets, and rhyming couplets will ring through the halls of Grist for the next 14 days. Aside from the relief of returning to normal speech, Grist will also get an additional $25,000 gift from a generous anonymous donor if they hit their goal.
Each brand has donated a signature product from its line, including:
Solio BOLT solar charger and back-up battery pack
Solio's BOLT is a solar charger and battery back that harnesses the energy of the sun to power thousands of USB powered devices, including head lamps, lights, GPS, cell phones, cameras, and more. The ingenious design of the BOLT allows a pencil to be inserted into the center of the portable panels, which makes the BOLT act like a sundial. Simply face the BOLT toward the sun and rotate it until the pencil no longer casts a shadow. Adjust the BOLT each time the pencil casts a shadow to maximize the efficiency of the charger.  The BOLT allows for fast, simple, on-the-go charging.

Nikwax products are a gentle, green, and effective way to clean, protect, and prolong the life of most athletic wear, outdoor clothing, and footwear. All Nikwax products are waterbased and biodegradable and do not contain fluorocarbons/VOCs, which means they are safe for your family, your washer and the environment.
Products included in the giveaway are:

This product is soap-based and can be used regularly to clean clothing and equipment without damaging Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coatings. Use this product instead of detergent or washing powder for jackets, tents and backpacks.
Additionally, Nikwax included its NEW TX.Direct® version 11.1, which is a revolutionary reformulation of its leading waterproofing product. The new version surpasses industry mandates for waterproofing and resiliency by 50 times, and is so effective that it offers five times more protection than the original formula.  It can revive the waterproof qualities of any garment and is perfect for re-waterproofing ski pants or jackets.
