SDSI Board grows with Joe Schimmelpfennig Managing Director at ROTH Capital Partners

SD Sport Innovators (SDSI) Executive Chairman Bill Walton announced today Joe Schimmelpfennig, managing director in investment banking at ROTH Capital Partners, as the newest member of theSDSI Advisory Board.

SDSI is the only organization of its kind that drives the growth of Southern California’s sports innovation community by facilitating mentorship, collaboration and business development.

“We are thrilled to add Joe to the SDSI team,” says Bill Walton.  “ROTH Capital Partners has been dedicated to SDSI since its inception and now they are officially on the bus.  Joe’s experience and personal interest in the sports industry makes him a perfect match to not only assist the 60+ early-stage members of SDSI in their fundraising efforts but also to advise the staff and advisory board on how to structure the organization to meet the financial needs of its membership base --- Let’s go!!!”

Schimmelpfennigjoined ROTH Capital Partners in 1995 and has helped emerging growth companies completeover 150 equity financings and advisory transactions in a variety of industries, including consumer products, retail, digital media and commerce.

“I’m very excited to be apart of such a talented team of business leaders,” says Schimmelpfennig.“I was first attracted to SDSI’s mission given their focus in the sports industry and in helping Southern California businesses.  At ROTH, we have been assisting similar growth companies access capital and corporate partners for more than 20 years.”

Schimmelpfennig serves as head of the Consumer and Business Services Investment Banking groups for ROTH Capital Partners. He holds a Business Administration degree from Coe College.
