RAEN x Fred Segal Limited Edition Eyewear

Oceanside, CA - April 11, 2013 - RAEN and Fred Segal have teamed up for a limited, 25-piece collection. Inspired by the classic shapes donned by James Dean in the 50's. RAEN fused its top-selling Squire frame with rare, European Mazzucchelli acetate found on a past trip in 2012.

"While visiting one of our factories, we were given unlimited access to the vault holding rare and vintage acetate previously not available to manufacturers," said Creative Director Justin Heit.

"We dusted off this hidden Mazzucchelli sheet rumbling through a stack of materials, and immediately knew we needed to share a collection using this material with a very special retailer. Fred Segal was the first chouce and perfect fit."

For more than a year, the two-design conscious, boutique companies have kept in touch and this collaboration seemed natural for the two. "We've always admired RAEN's creative direction and thought it mirrored our style," said Joey Gonzalez, Owner of Conveyor @ Fred Segal.

With modern, high-quality aesthetic for similar consumers, the product speaks for itself. Each handmade and heartfelt piece of eyewear feature Optics by Carl Zeiss Vision and custom embossed Fred Segal logo details. The limited edition frame features metal screw temple detailing and a keyhole nose bridge, as well as a mixed ivory and mocha colorway. The collection's most unique feature is the special numbering 1-25 inside the interior.

The RAEN x Fred Segal Squire ($250 MSRP) is exclusively sold at Conveyor @ Fred Segal in SAnta Monica, Calif.
