SURF: Oakley High School Surf Team Challenge Hits Newport Beach on June 1st

Top Orange County Area High School Teams to Compete for Money, Prizes and Bragging Rights as Part of the Oakley Surf Shop Challenge Series

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. – For the second consecutive year, the Oakley High School Surf Team Challenge will run Saturday, June 1st at 54th/56th Street in Newport Beach, Calif. The top 10 Orange County area high school teams will compete for a regional title, a $5,000 grand prize ($2,500 for their Athletic Department and $2,500 for their Science Department) and a Spirit Award worth $1,000 (donated to their Associated Student Body fund).

Newport Harbor High School secured the inaugural West Regional win last year with a team consisting of Will Laidlaw, Colin Moran, Ryan Croteau and Blake Davis. Coming in a close second place was San Clemente High School, followed by Huntington Beach High School in third and Dana Hills High School in fourth.
