Surfing for Life Foundation Announces 2Q Recipients
Press Release from Surfing for Life
The Surfing for Life Foundation is pleased to announce disbursements for its second quarter. “Our sole mission is bringing cancer awareness and education to the surfing community. I am deeply moved by the support we’ve received”, says Tom Brown, founder of the non-profit Surfing for Life Foundation. “A non-profit’s success depends entirely on donations and volunteer support. This quarter was no exception as the surfing community and individual donors continue to lend a helping hand. We are committed to spreading our message throughout the surfing community”.
The Surfing for Life Foundation has dedicated itself to helping other cancer charities around the country. This is accomplished through their wristband program. The Surfing for Life Foundation is pleased to announce they will donate to four cancer charities: Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC), Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, First Descents, and the Skin Cancer Foundation.
“Surfing for Life Foundationwould like to thank the surf shops who continue their support of our wristband program” states Brown. 100% of all proceeds go to cancer charities with a similar goal in mind: cancer prevention and education. This quarter the Surfing for Life Foundation welcomes new surf shops: QuiksilverBoardriders Club, So What Surf, Makai Paddle Surf, Mirage Paddle Sport, City Beach Surf Shop, and Bike About Tours. Look for the aqua blue Surfing for Life wristbands in shops throughout California. A special thanks to Spyder, ZJ’s, Patagonia, O’Neill, Asylum, On The Beach, Rider Shack, Mollusk, Dive N’ Surf and The Beach House for doubling their wristband orders! And a shout out to legendary surfer Barry Kanaiupuni for his support at NorthshoreBoardriders in Haleiwa, Hi.
Brown is super stoked that his organization will be teaming up with the O’Neill Skin Cancer Awareness Day and the Surfing for Hope two day event benefitting the Hearst Cancer Resource Center. “I’m honored to help educate and spread awareness about this ruthless disease”, states Brown.
