EVENT: The Shmooz at OR is a Success!

The Shmooz at OR is a Success!
The Shmooz is Malakye's version of a job fair and professional networking event and features leading employers from the outdoor industry.

The Shmooz returned to the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market on Friday, August 2nd and was attended by well over 100 attendees eager to meet with representatives from companies within the outdoor industry. Malakye.com relied on the continued support of and belief from the OR staff in the Malakye event, which enabled the Shmooz to bring together 16 of the industry's leading employers, including The Clymb, Cabela's, Scott Sports, Backcountry.com, KEEN Footwear and more.

Returning to the Shmooz at OR this summer was a discussion panel session, which was debuted earlier this year at the winter Shmooz series. The panel, featuring human resources professionals from industry leading companies, focused on the topic: “Standing Out in a Competitive Market” and was attended by nearly 100 people. The panelists were: Brent de Saxe, Sr. Recruiting Manager at KEEN, Rob Hanel, Talent Acquisition Lead at The Clymb, Stephanie Sellers, HR Manager at Specialized, and Mike Spaulding, Recruiter at Backcountry.com.

As The Shmooz wound down, many of the employers reported meeting with a ton of great people. Both company reps and jobseekers explained the Shmooz truly served the purpose of bringing the job hunt to life and creating an opportunity for both companies and jobseeking candidates to become more than text to each other.
