Interbike was held on September 18-20 at its new venue, the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Since 1982, Interbike has been the go-to place for the bicycle industry to gather and conduct the business of cycling. This year, the largest bicycle trade event in North America hosted more than 1,200 cycling-related brands and more than 25,000 total attendees at its new venue at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev., just down the strip from where the show was last year.

This year, event organizers also took attendees outside for the first time during the show with the Paddock at Interbike, where major brands like SRAM and Raleigh had demo booths set up along e-bike companies like Pedego and Ohm. The outdoor area also featured a quarter-mile test track, a stage with live DJs and rock music, and a food & beer tent sponsored by Sierra Nevada.

Along with the change of venue and the addition of the outdoor demo space which was just steps away from the show floor, Interbike added a consumer portion of the event, named Interbike by Invitation, which was designed to include consumers to drive sales activity on the show floor. Interbike by Invitation allowed retailers the chance to give their most loyal (and best informed) customers the opportunity to attend Interbike for a day - Friday, Sept. 20 was open to select consumers, and gave die-hard cyclists the chance to peek inside the show.

"Interbike isn’t a trade show – it’s an industry experience. It’s where manufacturers, retailers, media & more conduct the business of cycling.
