Why Read It? If you were hiring someone would you be more excited to talk to a person who applied via a website or someone who already closed a few deals for you?
Tristan wanted a job in business development at Foursquare. So what did he do? He started working for them. He called up companies saying he was a student and asked if they would be interested in advertising on Foursquare (remember, Tristan did not actually work for them). A few companies said yes. Tristan then emailed the Foursquare CEO (whom he had tried contacting previously, with no resonse) and told him the good news. Finally, the CEO responded. They met the next day. Tristan went on to run Business Development at Foursquare...
