B$Z: Priority Bicycles Surpasses Kickstarter Goal in 3 Hours
Priority Bicycles Surpasses Kickstarter Goal in 3 Hours
Less than three hours after launching the new collection of simple, smart maintenance-free bicycle designs on Kickstarter.com yesterday morning, Priority Bicycles had already reached its goal of $30,000. By lunchtime, they had doubled its pledges and chosen a "Staff Pick" by the world's largest funding platform. At 4 pm, they crossed the $100,000 mark.
After surpassing its initial pledge expectations, Priority has decided to add a matte black version to the step-through frame design when they reach the $200,000 benchmark.
The New York based bicycle company dedicated to making cycling easier and more enjoyable is a huge success among the Kickstarter community. Featuring two bicycle styles - a traditional diamond frame and a smaller step-through frame – the startup brand sold out of its first limited run but is offering a new incentive to early supporters to purchase bikes at the introductory pledge of $374 or more, including shipping and a pump. The collection features high quality, lightweight construction and eye-catching designs. The maintenance-free bicycles offer riders an innovative chainless belt drive that is leaps and bounds better quality at an affordable price, making it the ideal transportation for new cyclists, recreational riders, every-day commuters and anyone desiring a worry-free ride.
"I am incredibly humbled and honored that people believe in the mission and vision behind Priority. The bikes ride amazing and we're excited to share the experience with so many others," said Priority Bicycles founder David Weiner.
The first run of bicycles purchased through the Kickstarter campaign will be delivered in early December, in time for holiday gift giving.
