CHARITY: Ashley Wade Foundation Joins Sheckler's "Be The Change" Initiative

The Ashley Wade Foundation Joins Growing List of Beneficiaries from Ryan Sheckler's "Be The Change" Initiative

After two weeks of receiving countless votes, the world has chosen The Ashley Wade Foundation as the recipient for Ryan Sheckler’s 3rd “Be the Change” initiative. The Ashley Wade Foundation will receive support from the Sheckler Foundation, its SkateBOARD members and funding up to $10,000 as the 3rd “Be the Change” winner. With the winning funds and support, the Ashley Wade Foundation will use the proceeds to organize care packages, pizza parties and Christmas presents for children placed in hospital care.

Pro Skateboarder and Philanthropist, Ryan Sheckler says, “It’s a blessing that so many people took part in this initiative from submitting and voting to pulling it all together. I’m stoked that the foundation, the SkateBOARD members and our communities get to help out the Ashley Wade Foundation touch children’s lives.”

At the young age of 17, Ashley Wade was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and has gone through numerous treatments since her diagnosis. Her journey through bravely battling Crohn’s disease left her inspired to create a foundation that helps children living with illnesses or placed in hospital care – providing care packages, pizza parties and Christmas presents for the children in need.

Ryan Sheckler’s “Be the Change” initiative was created to help injured action sports athletes and children in need. Since starting in 2008, the Sheckler Foundation has been paying it forward to help numerous individuals and causes. The past two “Be the Change” winners include: The Port Gamble S’Klallam and Peach’s Neet Feet.
