EMP: SNOW Operating Welcomes Hugh Reynolds VP of Marketing & Sales

SNOW Operating, providers of resort consulting services and the industry-acclaimed Terrain Based Learning™ Program is proud to announce the hire of Hugh Reynolds as their new Vice President of Marketing & Sales. Reynolds brings over a decade of sales and marketing experience to the team, most recently as the Director of Marketing & Sales for Mountain Creek Resort in Vernon, NJ. Reynolds’ hiring reunites him with Joe Hession who was Mountain Creek’s General Manager when the two were part of the resort’s executive team that launched Terrain Based Learning™ for the masses in 2012.

“The work we did together in launching Terrain Based Learning™ at Mountain Creek was some of the most personally fulfilling I have ever done. I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Joe again, and the rest of the team at SNOW, to help them bring their programs to more resorts across North America. “  says Reynolds.

“It has been inspiring to see the amount of industry support and interest around Terrain Based Learning™ over the past two years. Hugh will be a great addition to our team allowing us to better serve our resort partners through a holistic approach that bridges operations, sales and marketing.” says Joe Hession, Founder and CEO of SNOW Operating.  In addition to the new staff announcement, SNOW Operating is also proud to announce their partnership with several new resorts for the upcoming winter season including: Killington, Vermont, Snow Basin, Utah, Seven Springs, Pennsylvania and Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia. SNOW Operating’s Terrain Based Learning™ Program is currently being implemented at 18 resorts across North America.

Now in their second year of offering TBL at their resorts Brian Fairbanks, Chairman of the Fairbanks Group had this to say when asked about why they chose to partner with SNOW Operating: “When we learned about Terrain Based Learning™ and evaluated how it would enhance the learning experiences at our resorts, it really made sense to me and was enthusiastically endorsed by our Snow Sports Directors. Initially we thought we could do it (TBL) ourselves, but the process of doing that would go through hurdles and learning curves. It would have taken us at least three years to get to what we achieved with Snow Operating in just a few months.”

“Implementing and successfully executing Terrain Based Learning™ is more than just shaping snow features; it requires a complete shift in both resort processes and culture.” explains Hession. “In order to achieve great results, conversion and guest experience needs to be a top-down resort priority. It truly is a resort-wide movement.”
