EMP: Jon and Tim Foreman of Switchfoot to Join SIMA Humanitarian Fund Board
Switchfoot front men, Jon and Tim Foreman, are the newest additions to the SIMA Humanitarian Fund’s Board of Directors. The Board is responsible for making decisions on fundraising efforts such as the latest StokesMe campaign, as well as determining who the beneficiaries will be each year.
“Tim and Jon are great surfers and musicians and compassionate humanitarians,” said Ross Garrett, President of the SIMA Humanitarian Fund. “We are proud to have their influence on our distribution of funds as well as our fundraising.”
The SIMA Humanitarian Fund Board of Directors includes Board President Ross Garrett of Surfline, and members Dylan Slater of Rip Curl, Chris Wagaman of Salt Life, Jim Caccavo of Steelpoint Capital Partners, ISA President Fernando Aguerre, and now Jon and Tim Foreman.
Jon Foreman is the lead singer and guitarist, and Tim Foreman is the bass guitarist for Grammy-award winning band, Switchfoot. Both brothers are avid surfers and compassionate humanitarians that already give back through the Switchfoot Bro-Am, an event created by the band as a benefit to local San Diego children’s charities through funds raised at a pre-event auction night and sponsorships, surf team entries and vendors during the beach day.
With the addition of the two new board members the SIMA Humanitarian Fund is poised to raise even more for the deserving humanitarian organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life, health, and/or welfare of people. The entire SIMA Humanitarian Fund Board and membership are excited about what lies ahead.
“As surfers, Tim and Jon understand the power of surfing and the ocean to heal and inspire, which is the primary rationale behind the SIMA Humanitarian Fund,” said Doug Palladini, SIMA President and Vans’ VP/GM North America. “That they would lend their considerable voices to such a worthy and important cause is highly commendable and we are grateful.”For more information on how you can get involved, visit www.stokesme.org.
