B$Z: The Surfing for Life Foundation is Making Waves
Surfing for Life Foundation Vol 3 No 3
Message From The Founder: The Surfing for Life Foundation is making waves and once again surpassed its goals for the quarter. The third quarter brought loads of fun making new friends, spreading the stoke and more importantly, adding new surf shops to our distribution channel. Gratitudes go out to Clout Surf Shop of Malibu, Val Surf & Harbour Surfboards for joining our awareness campaign and supporting the Surfing for Life Foundation. We hit the road this quarter sharing our mission about being pro-active in the battle against cancer. We participated in several events up and down the state. We could not have accomplished our goals without the amazing support from the entire Surfing for Life community. I would like to personally thank all those individuals who have made contributions to the foundation.
The Surfing for Life Foundation has dedicated itself to helping others. We're pleased to announce our third quarter distributions to the following non-profit cancer organizations: Hearst Cancer Resource Center, Surfing for Hope, Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC), and First Descents.
The Surfing for Life Foundation is a grassroots 501(c)3 non-profit. We're 100% surfer-driven with the mission of spreading cancer awareness to the surfing community. Our emphasis centers on diet, exercise, spiritual, and positive thinking. This is accomplished through our wristband program. One thing is certain...we make sure we have a good time doing what we do! One wristband at a time... Tom Brown

NBC news reporter Lolita Lopez accompanied me for a feature story on the evening news. We're extremely grateful to her for giving our foundation the fabulous exposure and spreading our cause about cancer awareness to others in the community. You can check out the entire news clip below...:

We attended the annual O'Neill Surf Shop Skin Cancer Awareness event to distribute our blue awareness wristbands to all participants It was a fantastic success and we enjoyed the evening immensely. Thank you Elfin Saffer and the entire O'Neill Surf Shopcrew for offering this great opportunity to make free cancer screenings available to all. We're already looking forward to next year's event!
I'm super stoked to have been honored by the French Hospital/Surfing for HopeAnnual Cancer Benefit earlier this month. In appreciation for the work our foundation has done in the surfing community, I was awarded a beautiful handmade trophy by local artist Ted Emrick. I'm honored to be a part of such a great organization and look forward to future collaborations. http://surfingforhope.org/ http://www.tedemrick.com/
